Rudolph Valentino demonstrated a highly stylized form of Argentine tango in The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. As a result, the Hollywood style steps mixed in with other social dance steps of the times began this branch away from the Argentine style. Today, American style Tango allows its dancers to separate from closed position to execute open moves, like underarm turns, alternate hand holds, dancing apart, and side-by-side choreography.

West Coast Swing is derived from Lindy Hop, a variation of Swing, or Jitterbug. Originally, designed to accomodate music with slower tempos. It is characterised by a distinctive elastic look that results from its basic extension-compression technique of partner connection, and is danced primarily in a slotted area on the dance floor. The dance allows for both partners to improvise steps while dancing together. The follower walks into new patterns traveling forward rather than rocking back. The Anchor Step is a common ending pattern of many West Coast Swing figures.

Cha-Cha is a sensual and energetic dance with a syncopation of the 4th beat. Originally from Cuba, Cha-Cha evolved from the very up-tempo and jerky Mambo. Today, cha-cha is danced to authentic Latin music, or Pop or Rock.

Our group classes are divided into six levels, I through II and each course lasts 8 weeks. These classes are designed to progress each week with a review & progress method of instruction. This course will feature the essential basics of applicable dance(s), as well as several stylish variations. Individuals and couples are welcome. To optimize practical application and accelerate learning participants rotate partners regularly, so it is not necessary to bring your own partner. This allows for the opportunity to focus on the "lead / follow" concept while reinforcing foot patterns and creating muscle memory. And, of course, it's much more fun!
Level I -
Beginning with the simple essential movements of you can learn very comfortably and experience definite progress. With your consistant participation the instructor can assist you in building a solid foundation for your dancing with fun and interesting variety.
Level II -
Continue learning and reinforcing your fundamentals while expanding your diversity.
Level III & IV -
Focus more on musicality and lead and follow. Enjoy learning more sophisticated sequences.
Level V & VI -
Continue to hone your skills as you become polished with stlye and technique.
